WHY WE RIDE ...

The Big Ride for Palestine is an initiative by supporters of the Palestinian people that combines a love of cycling with practical solidarity and awareness raising.

We want to bring attention to the human rights abuses endured by the Palestinian people, the brutal military occupation of Gaza and the West Bank (including East Jerusalem), and Israel’s continued violation of international law.

Over the five years since our first Big Ride in 2015, we've raised over £300,000 for the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) charity, including over £90,000 in 2021 alone. Donate here

The Big Ride 2020 and coronavirus / Covid-19

We were very disappointed to cancel the four-day Big Ride for Palestine we were planning for 2020 because of Covid-19

...But we still organised a 2020 Big Ride (a very different one)! Find out what we did here.

And we managed do our 4 day ride in 2021 instead from Thursday 29th July to Sunday 1st August 2021.

The situation in Palestine has been deteriorating for a long time, but Covid-19 has added another dimension. We're committed to raising awareness and showing our solidarity. The DONATE buttons on this site allow you to make donations to our chosen charity, Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA).

We also have Big Ride cycle tops, T-shirts, hi-viz vests and neck warmers for sale through the shop - there's a new improved 2020 design to wear on your rides - not just on The Big Ride - to show our solidarity with the Palestinian people, and help us with the costs of keeping the Big Ride going.
